Maggie Kelly Carr Aycock, age 95, put on her Angel Wings and went to heaven Sunday, May 3, 2015.She was born in Pinola, MS to George and Nettie Kelly. Maggie was predeceased by her siblings, Otis Drummond, Beatrice Reed, Lila Belle Thames, Guy Kelly, Sr., and Elza Pope.She married L.D. Carr in Simpson County in 1936. Maggie and L.D.’s infant son James died in 1950. In 1951, the Carr family moved to Gulfport. L.D. died in 1972. She remarried Rev. Joe Aycock (deceased) in 1980. Maggie is survived by her children GW (Allene) Carr and Carolyn Clark of Ellisville, Sonja Todd of Gulfport, Joyce (Larry) Schultz of Lyman, Jean (Mike) Bateman of Saucier, and Lynn (Ronnie) Davis of Pass Christian. Maggie was a retired LPN at Gulfport Memorial Hospital (1961-1980). She loved the Lord and was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church of Gulfport. Maggie is also survived by 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. All of her family loved Grandma. She always had a sweet smile for everyone, Love You Grandma!
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, from 9 - 11 am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice staff Jamie Woods, Sharon Martin and Sharon Tadej for their wonderful care of our mother. Also, thanks to the staff of Driftwood Nursing Home. God Bless all of you.
