Posted at findagrave.com: There will be a private graveside service for the family of Gordon W. Hauser at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, Calif. for Gordon W. Hauser who died June 15, 2005, at his home in Gardnerville. Mr. Hauser was born in Dubuque, Iowa in 1917 to Verne and Fern Aldon Hauser. He graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, Calif. in 1937 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Hauser was a resident of Gardnerville for the past three years and in Big Pine, Calif., for 27 years previously. For 24 years, he worked for Excelsior Creamery as a milkman in Orange County, Calif. Later in his career, he and his wife of 46 years, Barbra, owned and operated a business in Mammoth Lakes and Bishop. He loved the outdoors, particularly hiking, fishing and arrowhead hunting. He loved his animals, especially his beloved dog Buddy. He enjoyed gardening and took pride in his lawn. He also enjoyed games of chance, especially horseracing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Louise and his son Jim. He is survived by his wife Barbra; daughter Diana and son-in-law Jack of Danville, Calif.; son Steve and daughter-in-law Beth of Laramie, Wyo.; granddaughters Kate, Jayme, Barbara, and two great grandchildren. Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Hauser's name to an environmental protection organization of your choice.
