She came here for a visit July 4 and became ill July 11. Born in Chariton, Iowa, and spent most of her life in Carthage, Ill., and was member of the Methodist Church there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lake. She is survived by one son, Dr. Robert F. Sympson, professor of chemistry at Ohio University; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Maxwell, Fairmont, W. Va.; one brother, Dick McDougall, Chariton, Iowa. Arrangements for funeral and burial in Carthage, Ill., are being handled by Hughes Funeral Home in Athens.
