Daily Illinois State Journal, Springfield, Illinois, Tuesday May 17, 1904, Page 6, Col. 6: Springer---Died at the family residence, southwest corner of New street and Capitol avenue, at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 1904, after a short illness, of diabetes with complications, Henry Nesbitt Springer, aged 31 years, 5 months. Decedent is survived by his wife; two children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank K. Springer, three brothers, Samuel F., Charles E. and Phillip M. Springer, all of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Alice I. Poor and Miss May Belle Springer. Mr. Springer was a grandson of two well known citizens, Samuel G. Nesbitt and Rev. Francis Springer, D. D. Mr. Springer had been suffering for some time with diabetes, but was not seriously ill. He went home on Friday at noon, completely exhausted. His condition became alarming at once, and he gradually sank until the end came. For the last six years Mr. Springer has resided in Springfield. He was born in Clear Lake township. In 1889 he married miss Pennie Sympson of Carthage, Ill. He was admitted to the bar in 1898. After he left school he read law with George Wood of Springfield. He was admitted to the bar in 1898. He was appointed finance clerk at the Springfield post office in 1901, and assisted Special Agent P. H. Moore in establishing the rural free delivery service in Sangamon county.
