Anton Veling

Rapid city Journal, on February 25 1932: Yankton Feb 24-- A. P. Anton Veling, 87, believed to have been the last Civil War veteran in Yankton, died early today at his home. Mr Veling had lived here for 54 years. He had worked in the shops of the Dakota Southern railway, the first railway to enter Yankton. Later he was in the service of the Milwaukee railroad and for six years was superintendent of the city water works. A daughter survives, Funeral arrangements have not been made.
