Walter Adolph Siegrist

Madison, Iowa, Friday, May 22, 1970, Page 7, Col. 3: Walter Adolph Siegrist, 83, West Point, RR 1, died at 8:35 p.m. Thursday in the Park Manor Nursing Home, Burlington. He had been in failing health two years. Mr. Siegrist was born April 12, 1887, in Appanoose Township, Ill. He moved to the Denmark-West Point area in 1935. He was retired farmer. On Feb. 12, 1924, in Fort Madison, he married Fleta Wayland, who survives. Mr. Siegrest was a member of the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ, the Nauvoo Masonic lodge, the Lee County Farm Bureau and was a former member of the board of education of the Denmark school district with 12 years of service.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Lee Siegrist, West Point RR 1, and Jerry Siegrist, Waukon, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Martha) Koehn, Millersburg, Iowa; and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. His parents were Adolph and Theresa Klingelmueller Siegrist. The body is at the Barr Memorial Chapel where final rites will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Fred Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery. The family will meet friends at the Barr chapel between 7 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
