She was employed for 7 years in the Harry Kirkman Variety Store in Winchester, and for 26 years in the law office of L. Allan Watt as a legal secretary. She married Lawrence J. Gillham on February 17, 1940. On September 17, 1943 they became the parents of twin daughters, Carol Jane and Karen Jean Gillham. She was a member of the Winchester 1st Christian Church, CWF, DAR, Eastern Star, Home Extension and the Winchester Womens Club. Their daughter Karen Gillham died in 2008.
