Agnes Evans

A year and a half after James died, Agnes began receiving a widow's pension of $8.00 a month plus two dollars for each child under the age of 16. As she still had five children under that age, she received in all $18.00 a month. In October, 1917 her pension was increased to $25.00 and in May of 1920, it was raised to $30.00 a month.
The last years of her life she lived with her son and his wife, Andrew and Ethel Wilkins. Agnes passed away March 19, 1936. She was 88 years old. The cause of death was listed as cancer of the liver on her death certificate. She had fallen and broken her hip three years prior to her death and had been bedfast since then. She is buried next to her husband in the Little Saline Cemetery
