Death
Joan Bennett Baxter passed away Jan. 13, 2016 after a very brief illness. She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Bob), 2 granddaughters, Lindsay (Chris) and Hanna (Rusty) and 3 great grandchildren, Moorea, Foster and Sterling. She was preceded in death by her son Ray and husband Junius Foster Baxter. After graduating from college with an associate's degree, Joan went to work in NY for Eastern Airlines and while there earned her private pilot's license. She married in 1947, moved to Colorado and raised her family in Denver. She was active for years with the Children's Hospital Amputee Ski Program at Winter Park and was an instructor for the Eskimo Ski Club Adult Program. Joan was an avid gardener, animal lover, terrific cook, wonderful daughter, wife, mother and friend to those who knew her. She will be missed by many. Following a private graveside service, there will be a memorial reception at 2pm, on Wed. Jan. 20th at The Denver Country Club.
