Husband of Jane Hume of Tucson; father of James Hume McCormick of Topeka, KS, Sarah McCormick Pickeret of Washington D. C., Robert Alan McCormick of Grosse Pointe Park, MI; grandfather of Marjory, Alan, Mary Alic, James, Perry and David. A Navy Veteran of World War II, he earned his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. at Northwestern University. Dr. McCormick was Professor of English and Vice President for Student Affairs at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He also served as Vice President for Community Affairs at Detroit Edison Company before coming to the University of Arizona in 1976. There he served as Adjunct Professor Electrical and Computer Engineering. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m., Thursday at Rincon Congregational Church, 122 N. Craycroft, with Reverend DeWitt Brady officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Arizona or St. Mary's Hospice.
