Death
Topeka State Journal Tuesday 9 January, 1973:Mrs. Jean Lindsay Baxter, 77, Kansas City, a former Topekan, died of a heart attack Monday at her home. She was born Oct. 14, 1895 in Topeka, the daughter of the late Dr. & Mrs. William Sharp Lindsay, who pioneered at a homestead now situated at 1256 Western.
Mrs. Baxter had lived in Topeka until she entered the University of Kansas at Lawrence where she was graduated. She also attended Wells college in Aurora, NY.
Her husband, Junius F. Baxter, died in 1942. Mrs. Baxter was a long-time member of the Western Sorrosis Club in Topeka and the United Presbyterian Church in Topeka and Kansas City.
Survivors include 2 sons, William L. Baxter, Redondo Beach, Calif. and J.F. Baxter, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Helen Sparks Hughes, Denver, and 5 grandchildren.
Services will be at Mount Hope Abby in Topeka on Wednesday.
