Lancaster Gazette at findmypastInsolvent Debtor Dividend
Whereas the Assignee of the estate and effects of RICHARD LEYTHAM, the elder, formerly of Heaton, near Lancaster, in the county of Lancaster; then of Snab Green, near Arkholme, in the said county of Lancaster, near Kirkby Lonsdale, in the county of Westmorland; then of Meedup, in the township of Middleton, near Lancaster, in the county of Lancaster; and later of Arkholme aforesaid, farmer and Insolvent Debtor, lately a prisoner in his Majestys gaol the Castle of Lancaster, hath caused an account of the said esate and effects, duly sworn to, to be filed in the Court for relief of Insolvent Debtors. The Creditors of the said Insolvent are requested to meet the Assignee, at the Royal Oak Inn, in Lancaster, in the said county of Lancaster, on the thirtieth day of October next, at four o'clock in the afternoon precisely; when and where the Assignee will declare the amount of the balance in his hands, and proceed to make a DIVIDEND with the same, amongst the Creditors, who debts are admitted in the schedule, sworn to by the Insolvent, in proportion to the amount thereof subject to such correction of the right to receive Dividends as may be made according to the estate.
If any persons has a demand, which is stated in the schedule, but is disputed therin, either in whole or in part; or if the said Insolvent, the said Assigness, or any Creditor, objects to any debt mentioned therin, such claims and obligations must be brought forward at the said meeting, in order that proceedings may be had for the examination and decision of the same, according to the statute.
