Uncle Pres Hunt shows the husband of Philena is James Parilk. In looking at the census for that area I found no Parilk's. [1993]
**** Beverly Jones email correspondence 4/12/2010: 1850 Census for Homer,Will,Illinois John Depuy 50 NY, Lucy 52 Connecticut with sons James 20, Leverett 17, Lyman 14 all NY. Elizabeth Story and David Canfield are in Utah. I did not find Philena Irene as a Depuy, Roberts, Paulk or Parrish ??
1860 Census for St. Louis Missouri James Paulk 35 Connecticut, Philena(spelled Philenee)28 New York with Philena's daughter Alice Roberts 8 Illinois,James & Philena's daughter Lilia Paulk 2 Illinois and Lucy DePuy(spelled DePuph) 59 Connecticut (at last I found her). No Prosse on Census
1870 Census Philena and James are in Chicago with children Alice Roberts and Lillian and Charles Paulk. Have not found Lucy but according to Allyson Woods note on Pedigree Resource File #19 daughter, Elizabeth, went to Chicago( about 1864) and reported that her father,John, had died and Lucy had remarried possibly a Robert ??? In the 1870 Census for Lockport, Will, Illinois there is a Richard Prowse 69 (1801) England and Elizabeth 69 Connecticut. He is a Talor. ???? No Prosse on Census
1880 Census James and Philena are in Chicago with Alice M.(now Paulk) and Lyllian and Charles and living with them is Richard Prosse, Father in Law. Lucy had died in 1874 and it seems she married Richard Prosse. I have not found them on any records yet. Check 1870 info above. No Prosse on Census
1900 Census J. M. Paulk with Alice and Lillian are in Chicago. Charles is married and is living in Wisconsin. Philena had died in 1896. Alice is Roberts again and it has she is a widow??
