! A sketch of David Hunt is found in Vol. XLI , (Fayette, Jefferson Co.) --Goodspeed's?----History of Mississippi? unable to read rest of this--. It states he is sixth in line of descendancy from "London Ralph" of Long Island, New York fame. He first came to Mississippi in 1801, giving his sister what small inheritance he had from his Father's estate, and entered into the employ of Hunt & Smith, who were large merchants at Natchez, Greenville and near Port Gibson, Claiborne Co.
