Rebecca PARDEE
(11 Feb 1796 - 18 Mar 1875)
In 1831 Ebenezer Pardee went to Michigan with his son Thomas J., and heselected a tract of about 600 acres 2 1/2 miles west of the presentvillage of Spring Arbor, Jackson County, while his son selected a largetract 2 miles south of the village. Having secured legal title to theland, they returned to New York, and the following Spring moved withtheir families to the new home, traveling by boat to Toledo, and fromthere by ox team. The party consisted of Ebenezer and his wife, ThomasJ., his wife and two children, and the daughter Mrs. DePuy (then a widow)with her three children.
The other son, Amaziah, followed them to Spring Arbor within the nextfive years.
