They lived in New Castle Co., Delaware, where on Nov. 25, 1719, he and his wife sold property to Shobal Smith, husband of Samuel's sister Prudence (New Castle Co., DE, Deeds, 41:135. It seems probable that Samuel's brother Joseph named two of his daughters "Francis," after his brother's first wife. Samuel and Frances are mentioned twice in the marriage book of Duck Creek, Murderkill and Camden Meeting: at Duck Creek 17th of 7 mo., 1718 at marriage of Nathaniel Lamplough of Kent Co. to Abigail Paxton, spinster, dau. of Abigail of George's Creek in New Castle Co.; and again on the same day at the marriage of Thomas Ellet of George's Creek, New Castle Co., and Mary Shaw of Duck Creek, same county. Samuel and his wife Frances returned to Woodbridge before 11 mo. 8, 1727, as on that date "Frances Fitz Randolph and Mary Fitz Randolph present John Atkinson and Susanna Hadden (daughter of Samuel Fitzrandolph and Mary Jones) to this meeting who declared their intention to marry." And on 10 mo. 19, 1728, "Mary Kinsey and Frances Fitz Randolph present Peter Wren and Ann Brotherton - the first time." Frances must have died shortly after this date, as in 1728 Samuel married his second wife.
Samuel and his brother Joseph were captains of the sloops Sunflower and Elizabeth, plying between Amboy and Boston and the Carolinas - later to Jamaica and Curacoa. FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page
