Marriage

Wilson Hunt had three wives and there are contrdictory versions of their names and order. A compilation by Joyce Banaszak gives the name of a first wife as Agnes Burnet, second unknown, and third Margaret Shotwell. On the other hand, a compilation of a descendant Wilson Shotwell Hunt, III, of Kalamazoo, MI (in 1944) gives the name of the first wife as _____Bryan (which seems reasonable as he lived next to Bryan in Rowan County) who was mother of his first child Enoch, b in 1785, the name of the second wife as _____Burns, dau. of Jacob Burns (which may be the Burnet mentioned by Banaszak) who was he mother of his 2nd child Samuel born in 1792, and the third wife was Margaret Shjotgwell b. 20 Oct 1776 (22 years younger than her husband), dau. of Jasper Shotwell (b. Woodbridge, NJ, 1750/7, died 1816) and Clara or Clarissa Line (1755-1816). Wilson was a Rev. War veteran who on 15 Dec1832 at age 79 years applied for a pension while living in Fayette Co.,KY.
