Jonathan HUNT I
(20 Jan 1705 - )
!According to Mrs. Orson Haynie's manuscript, the descendants of Jonathan are listed in the vilume entitled "The Descendants of John Moore", 1903.
Jonathan Hunt, b. 20 Jan 1705, m. (date unknown, but prob. ca 1730) Phebe Titus, dau. of Content and Elizabeth (Moore) Titus of Newtown, LI Jonathan was received into membership in the Presbyterian Ch. at Newtown 11 Nov 1739, wife Phebe previously received on 1 Apr. of 1739 and on 22 July 1739 her six children were baptized there. On 31 Dec. 1743 he registered in the Newtown Books the cattle earmark which had belonged to his father. He appears soon afterward to have removed to Hopewell Twp., Hunterdon Co., NJ, (and was presumably the Jonathan Hunt of Hopewell who appears as surety on the bond of George Smith on 25 Sept. 1744.) The Jonathan who was surety on the bond was probably not this Jonathan but Col. Jonathan, son of John and Margaret (Moore) Hunt whose first wife was Mary Smith, dau. of Andrew Smith of Hopewell. . The date of his death has not been discovered and no probate records of his estate are found in Hunterdon County, NJ or Queens County, L.I. FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page
