Ethel Alberta "Toot" Clinger, 78, of Fisher Road, Strattanville, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, in her home. Born Aug. 18, 1924, in Lamartine, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Victor Marion Burchfield and Gertrude Huff Burchfield, who survives in Strattanville. Mrs. Clinger spent her earlier years with her grandparents, the lateAlbert and Iola Grace Huff. She was a 1924 graduate of Clarion High School. Mrs. Clinger worked at ASR where she served as union president. She later worked at Dupont Homes in Strattanville. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are three daughters, Judy Klingensmith and husband, Chuck, of Clarion, Sally Walter and husband, Don, of Gowanda, N.Y., and Pat Coull of Strattanville; eight grandchildren, Lonnie Klingensmith of Sigel, Kevin Klingensmith of Mentor, Ohio, Jimi Imm of Pembroke Pines, Fla., Roni Dilullo of Los Gatos, Calif., Wendy Walter of Detroit, Mich., John Coull of Strattanville, and George Coull and Donna Oberlander, both of Clarion; and nine great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Dorian) Goheen of Strattanville and Jacque Garver of Rimersburg; one brother and his wife, Dick and Gertie Burchfield of Branchville, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Mrs. Clinger was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle Glenn Burchfield and Victor Marion "Pete" Burchfield; and one sister, Patricia Jean McClurg. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Laura Skiba officiating. Interment will follow in the Strattanville Cemetery.
