Death

Helen G. (Norris) Strickler Goheen, 74, of York died Sunday, January 5, 2003, at ManorCare Health Services-North. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Strickler and the late Lamar E. Goheen.
Born May 6, 1928 in York, a daughter of the late William and Elsie (Holtzapple) Norris, she retired from Orinoka Mills and had previously worked at the former Tioga Textiles.
Mrs. Strickler Goheen is survived by three sons, Donald E. Strickler and Edward M. Strickler, both of York, and William L. Strickler of Dover; two daughters, Deborah Sue Bond of Stewartstown and Cindy Covey of York; a stepson, Lamar “Pete” Goheen Jr. of York; four stepdaughters, Connie Broome of Mount Wolf, Debra Reiley of Wrightsville, Leona Burns of York and Millie Brown of Louisiana; 29 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis E. Stevens-Ehrhart of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Starner of York.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with Rev. Steve Jeffrey and Rev. Joe Fauth officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
