Ronald J. "Sonny" Tillery was born Dec. 17, 1937, in Grapevine.
He grew up in Grapevine and graduated from high school as valedictorian. He lived in the Metroplex all his life, graduated from Texas Christian University, where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees in education. He taught honors calculus at Richland High School for 34 years and retired in 1995.
Survivors: Several aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends; special cousins, Linda and Everett Kates of Hurst; and special friend, Neal Patterson of Grapevine.
