Florence G. Goheen,
85, of 82 Sample Road, New Bethlehem, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sligo. Born May 27, 1919, in Mahoning Township, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Charles Fletcher Reddinger and Bessie Pearl Shreckengost Reddinger. Mrs. Goheen was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Brookville where she worked as a laborer. She was a member of the First Church of God in New Bethlehem and the Rebekah Lodge of New Bethlehem.
Mrs. Goheen enjoyed reading, shopping and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Goheen was married in 1959 to Dale M. Goheen, who died Aug. 5,1987. Surviving are two sons and their wives. Jack and Janet Holben and Dale J. and Patty Goheen, all of New Bethlehem; one daughter, Sandy Holben of New Bethlehem; three grandchildren, James Holben, Jacqueline Johnston and Tyler Goheen, all of New Bethlehem; and three great-grandchildren, Liv Holben, Brooke Holben and Austin Johnston. She also is survived by three sisters, Rosetta Griffin and Ruby Allen, both of New Bethlehem, and Cecilia Schaffer of Clarion. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Goheen was preceded in death by an infant son, Milton James Holben; three brothers, Terry, Kenneth and Percy Reddinger; and three sisters, Lois Shick, Jenny Kerr and Ruth Giordani.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor John Phillips of the First Church of God, New Bethlehem, officiating. Interment will bein Leatherwood Presbyterian Cemetery.
