Notes
Marriage
findagrave of Frank C McEwen memorial informationThursday, Jan. 27, 1881 -- The citizens of this place were surprised by the arrival of a wedding party today at the residence of our enterprising merchant, Mr. John Goheen, consisting of D.W. Goheen and his bride, Miss Auntie Beck of North Mahoning township. Shortly after their arrival it was announced that Mr. F.C. McEwen, of Sligo, Clarion county, was to be married to Miss Laura Goheen. The writer was unexpectedly invited to step into the parlor and witness the ceremony. This he enjoyed, as well as the bounteous repast prepared for the occasion, which was of the most tempting description and ample in quantity. May the journey of the newly wedded couples through life be as sweet as the honey-comb, with no tidal waves to disturb their peaceful voyage over life's broad ocean, and may Dam Fortune brighten the passage by bestowing upon them her richest blessing, is the wish of AUGUSTUS.
