William Doty, son Jonathan Doty and Patience Sutton, born Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Oct 8, 1767; married prob. Somerset County, New Jersey, about 1793, Elizabeth Parker, born there 1774, daughter probably John Parker and --- Colwell. He died Groveland, New York April 13 1833. His wife survived him and died there March 13, 1845.They lived several years at Basking Ridge, New Jersey then about 1797, emigrated to Western, New York, but shortly after to Derry, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania where hi s brothers had settled. Here they remained till 1802-3, probably engaged in keeping tavern, then they removed to Groveland, Livingston County, New York, where he cultivated a considerable farm
