Mrs. Carrie Tousley Graves, age 76, widow of the late Charles Graves, died of pneumonia at 6:40 Wednesday evening, Feb. 3, 1937, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Baker, Wardwell Settlement, where she had resided for the past three years.Mrs. Graves had been in poor health for some time, and only the past five weeks confined to her bed. She was born in Wardwell Settlement, Nov. 21, 1860, the eldest daughter of the late Foster and Ervina Farr Tousley. On February 28, 1883, she was married to Charles Graves. Her entire life was spent in this vicinity.
After Mr. Graves' death three years ago, Mrs. Graves made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Baker.
She was a member oft the Episcopal church of Pierrepont Manor.
She was a good neighbor and always was ready to help in time of need until her health failed her. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Lottie Mendell Smith of Adams; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Georgia Durant, Massena; three grandchildren, Helen, Neva and Arthur Durant of Massena; three neices, Mrs. Dorinne Mendell Balsom, Buffalo; Mrs. Sada Smith of Pierrepont Manor, and Mrs. Hazel Hooker of Wardwell; and four nephews, Leon Tousley of Richland, and Harold Tousley of Wardwell.
