Her church was a very important part of her life. She helped to start the Ladies Missionary Group of the church, taught Sunday School for many years and served as the church secretary in the early years of the church.
Some of the things Mrs. Hosterman enjoyed most were spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren playing sports. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and was known to always be ready to play Hand and Foot, a card game, with family and friends. She and her husband Charles also enjoyed playing golf together.
Mrs. Hosterman, in addition to her husband is survived by one son, Fred A. Bechtol and his wife Judy of Spring Mills, one daughter Carol A. Sadie, or grandma as many would call her, was best known for her Servant’s Heart, not only to her family but her church family and those in need. She loved visiting nursing homes and for years would visit there to brighten someone’s day and pray with them. In her end days, she was ministered too in a most loving and caring way at Wynwood House as she was nearing death. She was repaid for her years of service to others by the loving care she received there. Some aides referred to her as their “Sweet Sara”.
Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 on Monday, April 15 at Calvary Bible Church, 600 North Pennsylvania Avenue, Centre Hall. A viewing will also be held on Tuesday morning, April 16 from 9:30 to 10:30 at Calvary Bible Church. The service will immediately follow at 10:30 with the Reverend Richard Gilbaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, West Church Street, Centre Hall
