Funeral services for John O. Hicks, 66, of 1018 E. Denman, Lufkin were held Thursday, April 27 in the Gipson Chapel. Burial was in Fielder's Cemetery.
Mr. Hicks died Wednesday in a Lufkin hospital after a long illness. He was born March 15, 1901 at Alba, and had resided in Lufkin since 1939. He was retired from Brookshire Bros, and was a member of the First Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Mozell Hicks of Lufkin; mother Mrs J.A. Hicks of Corpus Chrisi; two sisters, Mrs Clinta Morris of Corpus Christi, Mrs Lucy Routh of Ft. Worth.
