Gleason, Jonas, Myrifield (Rowe). Corporal, Captain Gideon Chapin's (Myrifield) co. of Minute-men, which marched April 21, 1775,in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775, company of Minute Men and Militia Men which marched from Worchester to Cambridge on alarm of ye 19th day of April 1775 under command of Captain Timo Bigelow;
; service, 19 days; also, Private, Capt, Lawrence Kemp's co., Col. Leonard's regt.; enlisted Feb 23, 1777; discharged April 10, 1777, service, 1 mo. 17 days, at Ticonderoga; Also, Capt, Seth Howard's co., Col. David Wells's (Hampshire Co.) regt.; enlisted Sept. 22, 1777; discharged Oct. 18, 1777; service, 1 mo. 2 days, travel included in Northern department.

Note
Jonas, the father, was a prominent citizen of Rowe and Myrifield. He was deacon of the First Congregational Church of Rowe. He was Corporal in Capt. Gideon's company of Minute men, which marched April 21, 1775, in response to the Lexington Alarm; was in service 19 days. Later he was a private in Capt. Lawrence Kemp's company, Col. Leonard's Regt., from February 23, 1777, to April 10, 1777, and was at Ticonderoga. He was also in service in Capt. Seth Howard's company, Col David Wells Regt., from September 22 to October 18, 1777.Endnotes
