George Murray, a native of Bucks County, accompanied his father, Levi Murray, and settled upon Nittany Mountain, in Potter township. Arriving at a proper age he was apprenticed to learn the art of wagon-making, at which he employed himself until the outbreak of the war of 1812. during that eventful epoch he served with commendable valor. After the close of the war he settled in what is now College township and plied his old trade of wagon-maker. He left many descendants.Military
