— HEATH, Ohio — Gordon H. Hosterman, 86, of Heath, formerly of Lewisburg, Pa., passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, at his home in Heath.
He was born July 4, 1927, in Coburn, a son of the late Charles “Stuart” and Ruth (Douty) Hosterman.
Gordon served in the Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Sperry Destroyer in the Pacific. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star. When Gordon returned home, he married the former Gloria Stover and they have shared 68 years together.
Gordon began his employment with National Biscuit Company as a driver. He retired from Nabisco as the manager of the East Coast Food Service Division with 39½ years of service.
He was a parishioner at Faith Lutheran Church, Lewisburg and at Christ Lutheran Church in Heath.
Gordon enjoyed trout fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joan Rae and Larry Listebarger, of Ohio; one granddaughter, Cassie Miller and husband, Jonathan, of Kentucky; two stepgrandchildren, Jason Listebarger and wife, Shannon, and Kelly Irvin and husband, Eric, both of Ohio; five stepgreat-grandchildren; siblings, Charles Hosterman, Lorna Jane Crandell, Hallie Bair (Walter), Nancy Ruth Hartley and Phil Hosterman (Jane); two sisters-in-law, Shirley and Dorothy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dell Bias; two brothers, Ned and Jack; three sisters-in-law, Jane, Sadie and Maybelle; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Crandell and Carl Hartley.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Millheim, Pa., followed by the funeral at 11.
Gordon will be laid to rest in the Lutheran & Reformed Cemetery in Rebersburg with full military honors.
