Death

Robert Gardner died at his home, 310 East Tenth street at 4:30 o'clock this morning, after an illness covering more than four years and a half, he having suffered as attack of paralysis in July 1898. He was aged at death 76 years, 2 months and 25 days.
Deceased was the son of William and Catherine Gardner, and was born on the old Gardner homestead, near Rock Springs, Centre County on the 13th of November 1834. On the 24th of May, 1833 he was married to Miss Marthm Wilson of Indiana, Pa. To this union were born seven children, one of whom died in infancy. Mrs Gardner services her husband and the following sons and daughters are living: Roland W Gardner and Mrs George Elbey of Freeport, Illinois; William Gardner of Chicago, Ill; Thomas B Gardner of Buffalo, N Y, and Misses Mary and Mabel Gardner, at the family home in Tyrone.
The subject of this sketch resided at the old family homestead and farmed the place until he removed to Tyrone in April 1891. He was one of the old and substantial citizens of Rock Springs community, and was a member of the Graysville Presbyterian church from early life, being faithful to is religious professions and a neighbor altogether worthy of the name.
Funeral services will be held at the late home of the deceased a 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, by Rev A J Weisley ho will be assisted by Rev J C Kelley of Williamsburg, and Rev Dr D H Barron of Hollidaysburg. Saturday morninf the remains will be conveyed by the Tyrone and Lewisburg railroad train to Pennsylvania Furnace thence to the Graysville cemetery for interment. Persons attending the funeral from here can return on the same train at Noon if they so desire.
