"MRS. ELEANOR JACKSON
Little Rock--Funeral services were to be held at 11 a.m. today for Mrs. Eleanor Ewing Jackson, 92, who died Friday. She was one of the founders of the Kappa Kappa Gamma chapter at the University of Arkansas in the 1930's and was the mother of R. Ewing Jackson, formerly of Fayetteville. She was born at Lahore, Indiana (sic) in 1880, the daughter of Sir James C.R. Ewing and Lady Jane Sherrard Ewing, Presbyterian missionaries, and moved to Little Rock in 1905. She was the widow of V. L. Jackson, an owner and president of the Little Rock Tent and Awning Company and the Tuf-Nut Garment Manufacturing Company.
Survivors are two sons, Vernon L. Jackson and R. Ewing Jackson, both of Little Rock; a brother, the Rev. Rhea M. Ewing of Duarte, Calif., 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral service was to be held at the Second Presbyterian Church at Little Rock with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park under direction of Ruebel Funeral Home. The family asked that memorials be made to a favorite charity."
