Death
A Pioneer Gone; William Goheen Summoned to His Eternal HomeWilliam Goheen died last evening at 5 o'clock at his farm home in Lake township, three miles north of Arcols, after an illness of three weeks. The disease which caused his death was rheumatism which attacked the heart.
Mr. Goheen was one of the best known farmers in Allen county having lived on the farm in Lake township for nearly a half century. He was a republican and was that party's candidate for county treasurer last fall. He was also a Christian, and for a number of years was one of the leading members of the Eel River Baptist church. The deceased leaves a wife and six children - four sons and two daughters - namely: John Goheen of Churubusco; Nathaniel Goheen of Bellevue, Ohio; Mrs James Larimore and Miss Ada Goheen, of Fort Wayne, and Perry Goheen, single who lived, with his parents. The funeral will take place at 10 o'clock from the residence and hour later from Eel River church, where interment will also take place. On Account of the prominence and extensive acquaintance of the deceased the funeral will probably be numerously attended by citizens from all parts of Allen and Whitley counties. Many Fort Wayne people will surely attend.
