Virginia Beach - David E Goheen, 64 of Birdneck Point passed away suddenly Saturday February 5, 2011. Although Dave was born in Washington, D.C. and spent his early childhood in Herndon, VA., he spent most of his life in virginia Beach and considered himself a local.
He was a 1964 graduate of Virginia Beach High and attended East Carolina University -- Go Pirates! Music played a big role in his life and he was known for his oldies DJ parties and he was "The round mound of sound"
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 27 years, Rose Goheen and son William M Goheen III and his wife Dada, all of Virginia beach, his sister Claire Williams and her husband Jack of Springfield, VA; granddaughter Cameron Goheen; nieces Caitlin Burns of VA Beach, Wendy Williams of Annandale, Nancy Schneider and her husband, Charles of Clifton, VA.; a special sister in law, Nannette Burns of VA Beach and his devoted basset hounds Bubba and Gracie.He was predeceased by his father William and mother Merle Woods Goheen; his nephew John Williams; his St. Bernard, Brandy and Cocker Spaniel, Jackson.
A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Saturday February 12 a Altmeyer Funeral Home Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Avenue at 11 AM.
