SEVEN BROTHERS WERE IN CIVIL WAR
The funeral services for Charles Miner, pioneer settler, held in Kirkland at the late residence on Saturday afternoon were attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives, the house being filled to overflowing.
Those from Belvidere were Allen Lyon and family, Mrs. Bert Hollister and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Myers, Clyde Brown, and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Delos Albright and sons, Ray and Clifford. Mrs. E. Tyler, of Minneapolis was also in attendance. Burial was in the Kirkwood cemetery.
Mr, Miner was the youngest of a family of eleven children, all boys, one of which, J. Miner of Kirkland survives. A step brother, J. Diamond of Belvidere also remains.
Through misunderstanding it mentioned that Mr. Miner was a Civil War Veteran. While this is erroneous, the family was an intensely patriotic one, seven of the eleven children enlisting and serving in the war of 61-65.
