Mrs Mertie C Hollister, 77 of 810 South Min Street died Sunday at 12:50 am in St Joseph's hospital. She was a native of Belvidere, the daughter of John W and Carrie Clark Browbn. She was born Dec 6 1878.
She was educated in Belvidere schools and married to Bert Hollister in Belvidere May 17 1899. Mrs Hollister spent most of her life in Belvidere but lived for a short time in Ridett.
Survivors include one son, Willis c Hollister, Sr., Belvidere; four daughters, Arline Meyers, Mrs Garnet Abraham, Mrs Lucille Abraham and Mrs Frances McLain of Belvidere; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Clark and Clyde Brown of Belvidere; two sisters Mrs Allen Lyon of Nora and Mrs Walter Paulin of Belvidere, and one aunt Mrs Nettie C Tyler of Minneapolis, Minn. Her husband preceded Mrs Hollister in death in July of 1938.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday in the Atkins-Johnson funeral home by the R/ S.L. Buchanan. Burial will be in Belvidere cemetery.
