Clifton Ellsworth Carnahan, 70, 32 Hemlock st., died at 4 a.m. Thursday March 14, 1974, in Roswell Park Memorial Institute, Buffalo, N.Y., following ten days' hospitalization there. he had been ill for the past year. Born Sept. 1, 1903 in Munderf, Jefferson County, Pa., he had resided for the past 35 years in Warren. For 30 years he was employed as a mechanic at Warren City Lines, Inc. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Neva M. Carnahan; a son, C. Dale Carnahan, Warren, four daughters, Mrs. James (Eleanor) Schrecengost, Russell; Mrs. John (Norma) Schutt, Lander; Joyce Carnahan and Versal Carnahan, both at home; two brothers, James Carnahan, Falls Church, Va., and Stuart Heeter, Morgan Hill, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Perry Sweet, Warren, six grandchildren, James, Donald and Julie Schrecongost, Rosemari Carnahan and Christopher and Sharon Schutt; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Isaac Carnahan.
Calling hours at the Peterson-Blick Funeral home are from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held there Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. R.G. Lilley, pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park. The family has suggested that memorials be made to the Roswell Park Memorial Institute, Buffalo, N.Y.
