Thomas Hampden, Esq., Sheriff of Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire was born circa 1433 at of Great Hampden, Bulbecks in Little Kimble, Chilton, Corhams in Bledlow, & Piggotts in Hughenden, Buckinghamshire, England.1 He married Margery (Margaret) Popham, daughter of Sir Stephen Popham, Sheriff of Hampshire & Wiltshire and Beatrice Bohun, circa 1454; They had 6 sons (John, Esq; Sir Edmund; Edward; Francis; Alexander; & Henry (Harry)) & 4 daughters (Alice; Katherine; Jane (Joan), wife of Mr. Scott, Gent; & Eleanor, wife of Humphrey Cotes).2,3,4,5,6 Thomas Hampden, Esq., Sheriff of Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire left a will on 18 October 1482; Requested burial in the church of Hampden, Buckinghamshire.2,5 He died on 21 August 1485.1,2,5 His estate was probated on 22 November 1486.2,5
