KUIPERS - Leon J. Kuipers, aged 83, of Cutlerville. As today we celebrate Jesus' birth, we also celebrate that Leon was called home by Jesus on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. A committed, faithful servant of the Lord, he was a dedicated teacher throughout his life, both by profession and by example. He taught those around him how to live out God's direction for our lives....to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8). A loving and patient husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Arleen; his children, Rick and Sue Kuipers, Sheryl and Wayne Fredricks, Lenora and Larry Koetsier; his grandchildren, Kelly and Jairo Solano, Ryan and Sara Kuipers, Kristen and Kerry Kuipers; Rebecca, Tim, and Sarah Fredricks, Laura and John Arens; Elizabeth, Brian, and Mark Koetsier; great grandchildren, Sean and Natasha Solano, Hope Arens; brother, George and Frieda Kuipers; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jackie Kuipers, Len and Anita Zaagman, Trudy and Jerry Oele; many nieces and nephews. The family expresses special thanks to the kind and loving caregivers at Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods. The Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27, at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 7171 Willard Ave. SE; with Rev. Calvin VanderMeyden officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods, The Potter's House Christian School, or CRWRC. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and on Saturday before the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
