William de Ferrières or Ferrers was earl of Derby from 1190.

November 1217, a mighty army headed by John of Brienne, king of Jerusale m, king Andrew of Hungary, king Hugh of Cyprus and the masters of the Temp le and the Hospitallers was mustering in Acre.
In May 1218, a few months after Andrew's departure, the crusader army adva nced on Damietta which fell in 1219. However, on 30 August 1221, after sev eral setbacks, the crusaders decided to leave Egypt.
Emperor Frederick arrived in 1228. The following year, after having made p eace with Egyptians, Jerusalem was restored to Christians. Frederick to ok the title of king of Jerusalem.
