Sioux County Index March 28, 1946Obituary Of Calvin Cuperus, Deceased Seventeen Year Old Lad Passed Away In St Mary's Hospital, Rochester, March 19th.
Calvin Cuperus, son of Mrs. Nellie Cuperus, passed away Tuesday evening, March 19, at 6:55 o'clock at the St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Calvin, who was taken seriously ill at his home on Sunday morning, was rushed to Rochester and underwent a serious operation on Thursday, March 14, However no cause for his condition was found until after his death when a post-mortem was made and physicians announced it was bronchiectosis and small albscesses.
Calvin was born on March 13, 1929, and passed away on March 19, 1946. He received his education in the Hull Christian Grammar school and before his death was a junior student at Western Christian High.
Surviving are his mother and two brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Cuperus, Elmer, Ellen, Ruth, Nelvina and Peter, Jr. His father, Mr. Peter Cuperus, preceded him in death. Besides his mother, brothers and sisters and relatives he leaves a host of friends to mourn his departure Funeral services were held Friday, March 22nd, at 1 o'c!ock at the home and 1:30 o'clock in the Christian Reformed Church, the Rev. J. Hanenburg pastor,
affiliating. At the service the quartet sang a favorite number, and the members of the junior class of W. C. H. S. attended in a body. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Co-op Burial Ass'n of Sioux Center. Burial was in Hope cemetery.
Pall bearers were Thorville Slagter, Leroy Hanenburg,,Menzo Regnerus, Marvin Hanenburg, Elmer Raman and Wilfred Vander Burgt The sincere sympathy of a host of friends is extended to the family in their bereavement.
