James Shipman, a well known citizen of Searcy County, who resided at Leslie for a number of years, was thrown from a wagon near Martin Box on the Pike Road, Monday, receiving injuries which caused his death a few hours later.

Mr. Shipman was riding in the wagon of John Beavers, and when the team was nearing the W J Harrison place, the team became scared at an approaching automobile, and shied to the side of the road. In attempting to get out of the wagon, Mr. Shipman's foot caught in some manner and he was thrown out on his head, receiving injuries as above stated.
