Probably succeeded his father on his death around 950 (mentioned around 974-988).

Subsequently appears in the privilege granted by Bishop Hildegaire to the Abbey of Uzerche.

Subscribed a donation made to the chapter of Limoges cathedral in 975-985.

He married Rothilde ( de Brosse ?; † after 1019), who was also the second wife of Archambaud (c. 933-957) viscount of Comborn , and perhaps the wife of Archambaud I er de Bourbon . It seems that Géraud only had children from Rothilde 1 :

Gui I er (v. 988-October 27, 1025), who will succeed his father as viscount;
Huilduin, bishop of Limoges (990-1014);
Almodis, wife of Aldebert I of La Marche (killed in 997), then of William V , Duke of Aquitaine and count of Poitiers
Hildegard the bald;
Hildegaire, bishop of Limoges ;
Aimery I of Rochechouart ;
