Dovie Alene (Bohannon) Halsted, age 95, of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life Monday, June 10, 2013 at Highland Court Rehabilitation and Resident Care Facility in Marshall. She was born at Bear Creek, Arkansas, May 14, 1918, the daughter of Jim and Cleopatra (Horton) Bohannon.
Dovie was a loving mother and homemaker, always caring for her family. She was an avid quilter and spent much time at the Senior Center quilting with her friends. She enjoyed attending church at Welcome Home Church.
Dovie is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 55 years, George Halsted; brothers, J.N. Bohannon, Jess Bohannon, Alvie Bohannon, Harvey Bohannon, Bill Bohannon, J.C. Bohannon; and a sister, Florene Cotton.
Survivors include four sons, Coy Lee Halsted of Yuba City, CA, James Halsted of Olivehurst, CA, Wayne Halsted of Marshall and Steven Halsted, also of Marshall; three daughters, Donna Edwards of Yuba City, CA, Judith Lockhart of St. Joe and Vickie Ackerson of Branson, MO; one sister, Betty Brown of Marshall; one brother, Boyce Bohannon of Marshall; eighteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Dovie Halsted will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 14, 2013 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2013 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery near Marshall.
Pallbearers are: Mike Halsted, Kenny Davis, Ryan Robb, Adrian Quezada, Gary Bohannon and Danny Bohannon. Honorary pallbearers are: Brian Anderson, Aaron Quezada, Don Lockhart and Chris Halsted.
