Virginia "Jenny" Jane Renfroe

(23 Oct 1834 - 2 Dec 1936)

Jennie was married to Alexander Harness. He took a herd of hogs to Little Rock before 1860 and caught pneumonia because of exposure to bad weather, and he died. Jennie had two boys. She never remarried. She said, "It is a poor hen that can not scratch for two chickens.' During the Civil War bushwackers visited her on Bear Creek and said they were going to take the mule...she said, 'You will not take 'me' mule," and with a club sent them down the road. She lived to be 102. She was Joe Renfroe's sister.
