Wilmont Brown deserves a special mention in this genealogy. He was for many years the close friend and genealogical helper of Dana Ryder, the compiler of this family history. He attended every Ryder Reunion, and was a willing source of information on many of the Ryder families in this book. He lived all his life on the Salem Road, just out of Havelock, dying there at the age of 87 years.
