CHARLES OTTO FORMAN HAHN

Met Margaret McQuoid while working for the St. Andrews Beacon newspaper with Margaret and Bertha McQuoid.
Charlesdied at the Union Printers home in Colorado. He was a founding player of the Maple Leafs hockey team. He was employee of several well known newspapers.

Charles Otto Forman Hahn of Yarmouth, Maine died Thursday on his 82nd birthday at the Union Printer's Home here following a long illness.
He was born Dec. 25, 1887, in Lunenburg, N.S. Can., the son of the late Rachel Dorre and Eldon Hahn. He attended Lunenburg Academy.
As a young man he learned the printer's trade and traveled through Canada and the United States as an itinerant printer, working in job shops and newspapers in such places as Medicine Hat, Alberta, Can., Vancouver, B.C., Houlton, Maine and Woodstock, N.B.
He settled in Portland, Maine in 1923 after tossing a coin with another itinerant printer in Vancouver, B.C. to decide whether they'd go to Australia or the East Coast of the US.
His wife, the former Margaret McQuoid of St. Andrews, N.B. died in 1925.
Mr. Hahn was a 50 year member of Portland Local 66, International Typographical Union. He was a member of Corner Stone Lodge AF & AM, Kora Shrine, St. Alban's Commandery, Portland Council R&SM and a Past High Priest of Greenleaf Chapter, RAM.
He is survived by two sons, Eldon H. Hahn, Cousins Island, Yarmouth, with whom he made his home until he went to the Printer's Home two years ago, and Claude Edwin Hahn, of Westbrook; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Geraldine) Jones, Cape Elizabeth; a sister, Mrs. Salome Rafuse of Westminster, B.C.; a brother, Bernard Hahn, Dartmouth, N.S. nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held this week in the Printers Home chapel here. Interment will be in the sring in St. Andrews, N.B., Canada.
Charles was initiated as a mason on 2/2/1945, passed through the degree on 3/9/45 and raised as a master mason on 3/23/45 all at Corner Stone Lodge, Portland, Maine.
