Claire E. (Ryder) Hunt of Brockton, formerly of Randolph, passed away April 2, 2014, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Charles R. Hunt Sr., she was the loving mother of Edward Hunt of Brockton, Robert Hunt of Carver, Arthur Hunt Webster, George Hunt of N.C., Mary Pitts of Randolph and the late Charles R. Hunt Jr.; devoted sister of Robert Ryder of Fla., the late Doris Ryder, Rosemarie Kangiser, and Edward Ryder. Also survived by her 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Claire was born in Boston, grew up in Randolph and had lived in Brockton since 1949. She was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed her trips to Florida and Foxwoods. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Should friends and family desire, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts, 1300 West Elm St. Extension, Brockton, MA 02301.
