WILLIAM COREY

(Abt 1744 - )

In April 1783 Gideon wrote him a letter, and from that it appears that William had lived through the war without having his life disturbed too much. He was still living in North Kingston, RI, and mentions that his "family were all well. " There is no suggestion that he might have been a Loyalist or ever contemplated coming to Canada. Indeed, he lived his entire life on the family homestead in Rhode Island, and died there. He had a large family, whose descendants are followed in Al Bertis Corey, The Corys of America. [Corey Book]
