Burial
Obituary: Funeral services for Mr. Garland Linscombe will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Wesley Methodist Church in Sulphur. Officiating will be the Rev. Leon Boggs and the Rev. Peggy Forman. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines in Carlyss. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m., Aug. 24, at Robison Funeral Home. The rosary will be at 6 p.m. Mr. Linscombe was a member of Wesley Methodist Church and was on the committee that formed the church. He was also a member of the United Methodist Men and a veteran who served in the Louisiana National Guard. He was a retired pipe-fitter from Georgia Gulf. He was a loyal member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp, Capt. James W. Bryan 1390. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty McClanahan Linscombe; and his parents, Hance and DenaBola Stutes Linscombe. He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Dorothy Linscombe of Carlyss; three daughters, Jan Carroll and husband Rick of Seabrook, Texas, Kathy Meche and husband David of Carlyss and Kelly Gilbert and husband Mike of Sulphur; one stepdaughter, Belinda Boulet of Sulphur; two stepsons, Bobby Boulet and wife Sheri of Douglas, Ga., and Don Smith of Sulphur; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Gayle Thibodeaux and Shelia Vincent, both of Carlyss, and Angie Cooper of Sulphur; two stepbrothers, Robert Bates of Tyler, Texas, and Kenny Phipps of Sulphur; and his stepmother, Mildred Linscombe of Sulphur.
